Not Dead Yet.
Still alive, still out here. Just don't use this much anymore. Mostly on FB now, which kinda sucks. Really do prefer a site like LJ, but there hardly seems to be any of my friends here anymore; and with the whole Russians-own-it-now and the issues with Russia these days, I can't say that I blame them ( Read more... ) -
Lost posts?
Has anyone else noticed that LJ only seems to go back about two weeks in the Friend's feed now? It used to go back pretty much forever, just keep tapping "Previous 10", but now it seems anything older than about two weeks won't come up. Yet another great "feature" of the new and improved LJ. No wonder they're going downhill fast. :( -
Good Lord it's COLD!!!
We're currently under an "Extreme Cold Warning" here, and they're not kidding: the temperature this morning was -28c, with a windchill of -43c! As such, while the schools in town are open, they suggested that out-of-town kids stay home; that was fine by me, as I didn't particularly feel like going anywhere in this bitter cold. We're currently under an "Extreme Cold" warning, covering much of Southwest Saskatchewan; the temperature is hovering round -29c, with wind chills to around -39c. Thankfully it's supposed to start warming up a bit tomorrow, but this is just nasty. At least there's no snow coming down when it gets this cold. :/

First Winter Storm
We're currently under a Winter Storm Warning with winds from the NNE, gusting to about 60kmh. Windchills down to around -25c, and blowing snow (sometimes heavy) with accumulations expected to be in the 10 to 20cm range.
Yeah, I'd say Winter has arrived. :P -

FINALLY Understand the Commissions...
I've been a U-Haul rental centre almost as long as I've had the shop for Iron Pony in town. It just made sense; It was a service that was needed, I had the space, and there was very little cost to me other than my time and effort. First Power Outage This Season.
It might not officially be Winter yet, but it feels like it now and The power in town has been flickering all day (I would assume the same is happening at the farm.) About 20 minutes ago, the lights went out, came on again, then went out again at the same time as a loud WHOMP!! noise from outside. Freezing drizzle and ice-fog have been an issue ( Read more... ) -
Goodbye Charles
At roughly 10:45am this morning, our eldest horse, Charles, was humanely euthanized. Charles had suffered from founder before we got him, and despite our best efforts the condition only got worse over time. In spite of a healthy appetite, he was in near-constant pain towards the end, and getting thinner all the time. It was unlikely that he ( Read more... )
