Two items of news
The bad news: Still no Aussie visa! :((( *sobs*
The good news: Two more weeks in New Zealand! I put my flight back two weeks for a $40 penalty fee. Pacific Blue stated that such changes have to be made at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled departure time, but when I did it it was only 23 hours and 40 minutes ahead of departure. Then things went south!
After art-deco land (q.v.) I made the six hour bus trip to Wet-lington, and took in a few of the sights. The weather was atrocious, with periodic showers, grey sky and vicious 60 kph plus biting, chilly southerly winds. But the capital does have its attractions, and it's clean. I spent a few days there.
