I have a week off work. In my innocence, I took my car in for its 30,000-mile maintenance, thinking a couple hundred dollars, a couple hours, done. Five hours and SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS later, I'm home, still in shock. Seven...seven...seven.... Cheaper than buying a new car, I remind myself

OMG! So December I have week off, plan to have regular maintenance on car, ends up costing $700. Only no free SW comics, with Luke striking heroic pose; but otherwise...

Just hope three weeks from now you go out and the car won't start and you end up spending an additional $200.

The Luke comic sounds great- is it a Dark Horse? What series? How'd it turn out.

Have a fun week off; you've got great weather for it. No more Yak trax (After every snowstorm I keep saying I need a pair of those.)

Oh, I meant to add that I have a meeting with OHS Feb 1 and then I'll know whether or not I can go to Norwescon.

The comic was Empire #40, about a year old. Not a clue how the story turned out. I only have a couple of the Empire series (the ones I got for free). It's such a racket--the comics are around $3 each and some of the series are so long.

The sun has been shining yet again! I was out all day. Started out at the new Powells in Beaverton. Timothy Zahn is going to be there next Wednesday night signing his new SW book. I might go just to see the stormtrooper group that will be there.

I *hope* you can go to Norwescon! Orycon was much more fun with a pal, and Norwescon is so much bigger. Would be fab! :>

I know how much cars drain the pocket book!! I've had a period of shelling out for mine! *sigh* What comic has Lukey in Imp uniform??? I GOTTA see that! Minght even get my creative jucies going!
