Hey! There you are! Glad to see you, or at least your familiar Luke icon.

Wow, that is a pretty striking set of excerpts. Since they're all Denning, the connection is obviously intentional in his mind. Whether he drove the whole LOTF plot is a good question.

I haven't read Invincible because after the spoilers, I wasn't sure I was up for it. It's ironic the thread goes back to Tatooine Ghost because in that book Leia laid to rest her fears about having children, only in the end of LOTF to have them realized. I wonder what Denning would say about that.

Denning is behaving like a fanfic writer, using connections from HIS old stories instead of blindly following the party line. (Unless he IS the party line!) Invincible is okay, but I expected better from Denning. Most of the book is from Jaina's POV and as I was reading, I began to worry that we'd never hear from Jacen. His feelings were a driving force in the series, but that didn't continue into this book. It's not an awful book, it's mediocre. I'd say: read it if you can find a cheap copy. It's definitely not a "full-price book".

How was NWC??

Good to see you. Hope everything is well.

As far as the theory... What it means for me, I think, is that after thirty years, Star Wars is about to become an ex-fandom. I rather suspected it when the Legacy comics starting coming out and everything Luke, Leia, Han, and all the rest worked so hard for was shown to be just stupid. Luke built a stupid order of Jedi knights, Leia built a stupid government, Han was just stupid. The Sith and the Empire win. And they should win, because the Empire was good and democracy was bad, and good people are stupid.

I think I'm just out.

Except, maybe, for fanfic.

Oh, you're such a wee pessimist! :> True, the GFFA turned sour, but at least it has kept SW alive. I did love what some critics call Luke's "God" moments in the series...better God than the wimpy loser as he was portrayed by some of the pro writers.

If only Lucas had let fanfic writers take over SW's future. What a universe they would have....
