Oh no! That sounds miserable. :( I've not heard of immobility being a manifestation of fibromyalgia before; did the specialist say that's usual? And do you have any idea when the test results will come back?
So creepy. I kind of hope they'll find out it's a pinched nerve or something. I mean, they can fix that -- better a one-time surgery than something chronic. :( Let me know if I can do anything to help... drive you somewhere, bring you food, whatever. Holler if you need me.
Well, the symptoms are much more extensive than I am describing. Just to keep it simple and not drone on about my problems. It's definitely going on in the muscle fibers throughout my body, and not numbness from a pinched nerve. In fact, nothing is numb or tingly at all. It's odd to have a limb not move when you tell it, but still has its normal feelings of sensation when you touch it or flex the hand. Very weird. You know what's it like? A broken arm. I've had one three times; it's quite similar now that I think about it.
On the good side, fibromyalgia can be dealt with and recovered from. I'd much rather it be that than one of the nastier possibilities. So for the long term, I'm optimisitc, though I dread getting on a medication merry-go-round. But I have to be functional again.
