My diagosis of "fibromyalgia" has been put on hold. After more extensive testing, we've found a blood disorder. The symptoms are pretty darn close to what I have. Off to the hematologist on Tuesday to get it assessed. So, the current, popular word is "hemochromatosis."  If that's what it is, it's darn lucky this new doc tested me. I hope the hematologist can help. I'm very glad you're feeling better, but it still sounds awfully rough. *hugs*
I've been worrying about how you're doing; please don't ever hesitate to contact me if there's any way I can help.
Can you get meals on wheels or any kind of nursing help in your area?
I hope things start looking up for you soon.

Well, first, thanks for turning me on to peapod.com. I can't tell you how much that one thing has made this whole ride more bearable. Such a relief not to have to fret about finding someone to grocery shop for me.

I'm crossing my fingers on all this. This latest diagnosis is the result of a very elevated iron level we found on blood tests run by a new doctor. It's not one of the specialists that the other docs recommended. I am still waiting another month to see the first of those. Instead, I got tired of waiting, waiting, waiting and just lying here, and went to see this new physician based on a suggestion from a friend and what I read about the practice on line. I'm a bit surprised that all the previous bloodwork didn't even test for this. Apparently they never tested my white blood count, either, because now everyone is discovering that's elevated too. All this speaks to what they say about driving your own health care and not leaving it up just to what one doctor tells you.
