The Glasgow Coma Scale

Today, I amazed a new set of doctors at the rehab hospital in Birmingham.

The first one who saw me, in looking over my charts, noted in wonderment my initial Glasgow Coma Scale tests.

This was the first I'd heard of it. I had to ask how to spell it, and checked it out as soon as I got home.

I am so sorry to hear about your accident. When you said that your GCS score was initially 3 I nearly fell out of my chair. It is indeed miraculous that you have recovered so well in this amount of time. You have been blessed...

Wow, God is good. I found this post very encouraging. I don't know why I clicked over to your journal, but I'm glad I did.

Yeah, He is. :-) I'm glad. I checked out your journal, too. Would you mind if I added you?

Not at all...though my life isn't very interesting at the moment. I've had a rough year with mono and a rather unfourtunate break-up with my boyfriend.

I've obviously had a rough year, too. Besides getting hit by a dump truck, I had breakups with my not-girlfriend (though she led me to believe she liked me that way) and with another close friend a few months earlier. But besides all of that, my life's never been very interesting. We can be uninteresting and unfortunate together. :-p God's been good to me since the accident, so at least next year is looking up.

By coincidence, I have another dear friend named Emily who's also had mono this year.
