so there's this new novela that started on one of the spanish channels that exceeds all expectations. it's always been obvious that spanish television is crap. even the news spend the entire hour talking about how some man with a tumor growing out of his head was hit by a car and had his leg amputated. on top of explaining all this, they must show

i dont watch the novela, but my mom saw some televised round table about it and it's actually based on a true-life situation going on in columbia. apparently they're taking girls out of high school (who have big boobs) and prostituting them to drug cartelists. i think the main character girl is based on a real person who ended up marrying one. and on this show they were encouraging ppl to watch the novela bc the intent is to educate people about what's going on down there.

yeah, i think that's the reason why they tell you before every episode that it's based on actual events. i'm actually addicted now, but the girl is just so incredibly lame it drives me nuts. it definitely provides variety though, considering most novelas are the same.
