I sold my boat, "Black Dress Day", yesterday. Every time I've told people this, the reaction has been:

WHAT??!?! Where is the real Eric?  What have you done with him?

Simmer down.

Yes, I sold my boat. She's now the property of a charming Canadian fellow from Vancouver Island.

Why? You loved that boat!

I'm sure mine isn't going to be nearly as fast as you're used to, and if you think 13-year-old technology is bad, trying restoring something that's over 50 years old;) The blocks don't even have bearings!

...but as I was saying, I'll let you know when I finally get mine moved up here, shouldn't be more than a few weeks now. Then at least you'll be able to partly satisfy that itch when you need to get out on the water.

More random info. I've discovered about you, and interestingly enough, I too have recently sold a sail boat that I had inherited. I didn't have time for it's maintenence and learning how to sail. It sure was fun to be out on the water with people who could sail it though.

The couple that bought it was so delighted with the inexpensive price (it needed some work) and they also fixed it up right away and take it out about once a week -- I'm happy to see it appreciated, it gives me a good feeling that leaving it to sit and paying mooring fees was not.
