On Friday, much fun and destruction occured... Rob and I entered our first combat robot ever, Kratankator, into the Tulane competition. We actually placed pretty well, considering the circumstances. I'm now officially an LSU student for the semester (along with Rob), since Tulane will officially not being opening this fall. It's alright so far... besides the nightmare of registration. None of the classes I was going to take have something that corresponds being offered, so as of right now, I'll be taking Intermediate Classical Mechanics, ( Read more... )

Hey everyone... I thought I would update to let you all know that I'm still alive, though I may or may not have a school to go to this semester. I evacuated to Texas with Rob, and I'll be here for at least a week... Tulane has cancelled classes until September 7th for sure, and once they assess damage, it could be longer. There was a vast procession of Dr. Pepper trucks on campus today... a big camper, a pick-up, and a trucky truck, all brightly painted proclaiming the wonders of the new "Cherry-Vanilla Dr. Pepper". We could see they were about to hand out free ones, and free stuff is magical to college students, so we stand around while they unload it all. Finally ( Read more... )

So I just got back from voting... I did stand for and hour and 10 minutes in line, and yes, there was a thunderstorm going on, and of course, it was outside. We're not talking drizzle here, more like, "and the heavens opened up and released all their fury"... something like that.
