Today after lunch, most people had to go home and do all of the homework before their finals tomorrow.  But I don't have any finals so instead Christine and I went to the Cimetiere du Pere Lachaise.  Famous people buried here include: Marcel Proust, Oscar Wilde, Edith Piaf, Jim Morrison, Honore de Balzac, Frederic Chopin, and Moliere.

It makes me happy that, on the other side of the pond, 5 days previous, I walked all over Arlington cemetery and engaged in very similar activities. I posted the pictures on facebook- go look!

Are you at all freaked out by the fact that everyone in France is buried ABOVE ground? I just can't get over the tombs- I feel too close to the bodies. That being said, I wrote a cool poem in French (when I was in France) about being in a cemetery. I should go find that and send it to you.

P.S. Do you have a mailing address yet?!?!? How am I supposed to send you love letters if I don't have your address?

between the 2 of us, we have visited at least 4 cemeteries! i'm beginning to believe that we are mildly morbid! (of course, you are leaving a flower on the tombstone of a 9-year-old, and i'm trying to figure out how many skulls i can fit in one picture at the bone church. maybe there is a difference here...)

I actually saw Morrison's grave, too. At one point he popped a hand out and gave us the "rock on" sign. \M/

I saw Paris Je T'aime last night, and one of the segments was in the Cimetiere. This couple goes to the grave of Oscar Wilde and his ghost possesses the man to help him win back his fiancee! It was glorious, and it made me think of you in Paris and be jealous. ;P (even if you didn't get to leave your lipstick print on his headstone)
