I have no clue where this angsty bit of gak came from, but it rattled around in my head for a couple weeks, so now I'm coughing it up. Sorta like a hairball. ;-) Just keep in mind this is years in the future.
"Fair winds and following seas, Jack," -- Okay, yes. Tears. Thanks a lot. ;)
That was absolutely gorgeous.
And about Jack knowing how to write: yes, he was obviously an educated man, as was Barbossa. To captain a ship, one must be an able navigator, as my research so far has shown that the captains were indeed the main navigators on board at the time. As such, he'd have to be able to read maps and mark on them himself. Ship captains unequivocably had to know how to read and write, (not even mentioning his extensive vocabulary) and I think you have done a lovely job with it. As always, your work is beautiful!

I was wondering when you were going to favor us with some more of your lovely writing. Amazing. But so very sad. We can't help but grieve along with Will. What is it about these characters that inspires such an outpouring of creativity?

Erin, if you ever write anything I don't love, even if it makes me incredibly sad, I will be very, very, very surprised. This little wolfie, at least, loved this piece. I came nigh on shedding a tear with Will there, though.
And I loved the little teasing flavor of the supernatural.
Wonderful, cap'n, oh fearless leader, just wonderful.

PS--Yes, the Royal Navy would be quite upset to be plagued by a ghost *Pearl*. *grins evilly* I'd love to see that.
