Shock and amazement! I've been visited by a Pirate muse or three, and have a wee bit of something to share. For your reading pleasure, I present a vignette and a ... erm, double-drabble thingie. :-)

The icon? That's Geoffrey Rush in 'Shakespeare in Love' - a really GREAT film, if you ever move out of your shoot-em-up comfort zone. *snicker* [Meaning: there's no gore, no war, the single death occurs offscreen and - worst of all - some parts are (meep) *funny*. But, on the other hand, it won seven (7) Oscars, including Picture and Actress.] It's the story about how 'Romeo and Juliet' almost didn't get written (Will has writer's block) and Rush plays the theatre owner. He's brilliant. Hell, the costumes alone are worth the price of the rental, trust me. *g*
*SNORK* Comfort zone, indeed. I hereby blow a raspberry in your direction - PHHHHHHFFFFFFFFFFFFFFTHHHHHHHHHHHHP! LOL!
Seriously, though, you make it sound rather fun! I can do fun, you know. *G* Hmm, might actually have to look for that one - or at least pay attention should I see it. :-) Cheers ~
I read these yesterday off the BPS emails, but was hoping you'd post them here. I absolutely love the way you write Will. It seems to me that this is exactly how he's meant to be.
And Elizabeth, too. The little story in the vignette, each of them caught up in the day to day exigencies of their duties in Port Royal, and their joy at the prospect of a temporary escape on "business", is one we can all relate to so easily.
We just had a new member join BPS, and in her intro she comments that she finds Will dull. But, as you point out in your drabble here, his heart of gold and steel is hidden, until those opportune moments. If he is less flamboyant than Jack, he is far easier to relate to.
You delight, and inspire -- I need to dust off that Will story I've been meaning to write. I hope your Muse will oblige you with more inspiration, because these were wonderful.
Gosh, if I can inspire you to dust off a story, my work here is done! *G* Meanwhile, thank you so much for your comments here and on BPS. I am definitely feeling the luv. :-)
And yes, I saw our new pirate lass' remark. Hm, I may have to see if I can get that Will muse back. I should like to convert a few sceptics, yes, I would, precious. :-p
Meanwhile, thanks again! And do let Will muse talk to you. ;-) Cheers ~
I commented over at BPS, but just wanted to repeat how much I love your writing and your vision of Will and Elizabeth. When I think of the two of them together, I always see that scene in the cave where Elizabeth saves Will. At that point every other male has tried to lock her up out of the way. But Will doesn't ask her what in the world she's doing here, nor does he tell her to get out of the way, nor does he try to make her play it safe. Instead they fight shoulder to shoulder--that's why I like canon Elizabeth and Will. They have each other's backs.
Why, thankee, mate! I salute you for sharing the self-same vision I have, and for putting it even better than I could. That's it in a nutshell: they have each other's backs. Always have since the beginning. ;-)
Thank you for reading and for commenting - twice, no less! :-) Cheers ~
I adore your writing and both of these are just beautiful. Every sentence is a gem, the imagery and the descriptions are gorgeous and the vignette, especially, paints such a realistic and touching picture of their relationship. I truly hope your Pirate muses will visit you again soon.

Lyrical and gorgeous - just like always. Damn, but you've got such vision. I am ecstatic that the muses have loaned you to us for a space.
