Having spent the last 2 hours of today torturing myself by doing my first ever performance appraisal, I was both disappointed and yet gratified to get back the final "blurb" from my supervisor.

I emailed her a 4 page Word document, detailing my activities, contributions, internal and external service, future goals etc etc .. and get back this:

.. is just no fun.

Especially since I've done all the good ones, and I'm left with the assignments from the less able students in my class. But I need to get them done and notify the students today, so they can see just how hard they need to study for the final next Tuesday.

I've decided I need a vacation. I've been working for 11 months now with minimal time off, and no proper "go away for a bit" time.
