It went just in the fleshy part of my thumb, so I got the muscle there, hurts like hell, but I have a good dressing and painkillers so it's alright... I don't know if I have severed any tendons, the pain is not localised enough when I move it. I should know by the end of today. Nerves on the other hand... it certainly hurts enough...
In regards to blood loss, I put a lot of pressure on it when it was in the sink, so I managed to prevent quite a bit, you'll be pleased to know. Now it isn't bleeding at all thanks to steri-strips.
And my parents did take away my knife, permanently. :(
Well, at least if you had to do it, you did it right; from what I remember from anatomy class I don't think you cut into any nerves. Of course your mother would know better than I, obviously.
I am impressed by the condition of your penknife; it must have been pretty damn sharp to be able to cut through. Mine wouldn't have been able to do it. I am, however, sorry that it was taken away, although not particularly surprised.
Just please do the world a favor and not provide an encore? Please?
