OK, so here's the deal. I fell off my writing schedule and part of that is that I don't know my characters well enough. So I'm taking the 31_days drabble challenge. You know, by the end of NaNoWriMo, I had only a bit 20,000 words. I started on November 17th and ended up missing two days, because I write better at night than during the day and I was out late for family things. Joining NaNoWriMo now--not a good idea. Getting something written that's not a journalism piece or an essay--a good idea. I think it evens out.

Every time I read about the Spanish explorers--Cortes, Alvaro, Pizarro--, it makes me absolutely livid. How could they justify to themselves the utter destruction of some of the most brilliant civilizations in the known world, in order to gain transient wealth? -
