Ladies and gentlemen, fanfiction writers of the world, mpreg is one of those things that requires a warning.  Excuse me as I go scrub my eyes out with bleach.

Good grief... I still can't understand the attraction.

I've only seen mpreg done well once. It was a horror story, and the "fetus" was a parasitic manifestation of Voldemort that ended up leeching life from Dumbledore. It was treated as horror, and never once was there the idea that mpreg was in any way cute.

That does sound like a situation that lends itself to being done well--note the horror genre and the UTTER LACK OF CUTE. There is nothing cute about mpreg, there is nothing realistic about it, they lack the organs, and if y'all really want your male characters to want children, let them adopt already. Good grief!

I'm done now...

Is your computer back in action?

I'm thumbtyping on my cellphone, actually. Computer's still out of commission.

But yeah, I have the same feelings towards mpreg too. My biggest complaint is the implication that the child must be a lovebaby of both men, or it just doesn't count. As if adopted children are never as worthy of parental love as biologically related children. This I heartily disapprove of, no matter what the pairing. It just seems worse somehow in mpreg, like adoption isn't even an option.
