Aikido in japan... club aikido

I had my first aikido experience in japan last night. It was quite enjoyable and interesting. One of Larissa's friends is a 2nd year jet and fellow aikidoka. He trains at his schools club at a local high school. The main teacher is a shihan from hombu, 8th dan. make sure you use your elliot japanese....meaning you say "hai, dozo" after every statement, whether it warrants it or not. i'm sure they'll get over your coolness if you do that.

Yeah.. I have already been corrected on the whole san kawa dojo issue. "San kawa.. hehehe.. In japan we would say mikawa, but in america, sure."

They use a lot of club slang... oneigaishimasu is belittled to onimasu. Most things ending in -masu they seem to skip the middle syllables. hai.. dozo

i told you...you should have worn your t-shirts that say "aikido" on them. no problems then i would bet...hai dozo.
