Siwon hadn’t been able to sleep since speaking with Kangin.

He’d been running through all the possibilities. Adding up anything suspicious; but all he could focus on was the phone call he’d heard. He felt both mentally and physically exhausted. Fatigue was running through him and slowly dragged himself to the bathroom in an attempt to wake up. Splashing cold water onto his face, Siwon stared at his reflection.

What should he do? He knew Kangin made a valid point, but at the same time Kyuhyun just didn’t exude ‘Secret-Evil-Agent’ either. His head throbbed in protest to all the thoughts running in there before finally succumbing and rummaging through the cabinet above the sink he looked for some painkillers.

“Are you okay?” Siwon cursed as he dropped them on the floor his gaze locked with worried chocolate brown eyes.

“How did you get in here?” Kyuhyun looked shyly away at the question one of his hands fidgeting with the long sleeves of his shirt. “I-I just wanted to talk to you and your door wasn’t completely shut so I thought you were awake…” Trailing off the younger man moved to pick up the dropped pills before stepping closer to Siwon.

Why did Kyuhyun have to look so cute in the morning?  He tried to contain the warmth spreading through him at the vision of the younger man but couldn’t resist ruffling the messy hair, his mind berating him the whole time. At the sight of the blush Siwon snatched his hand back or he’d end up doing something stupid, like hugging the other.

“Thanks.” Taking the pills he dry swallowed them and shuffled out of the bathroom to change into a new suit. Kyuhyun trailed behind him.

“Siwon…are you okay?” The worried tone made his lips twitch into an almost smile before he remembered Kangin’s warnings that the other was most likely acting. That made his headache throb, he hoped the medicine would kick in soon.

“I need to change. I’ll see you outside.” Siwon avoided looking at Kyuhyun; he knew his resolve would break at seeing the upset look on the beautiful face. Kyuhyun didn’t reply although he remained silent before exiting with a large slam to the door.

Ignoring the sinking feeling inside him he carried on getting ready.

--

Things did not get better as the day went on. His cold attitude didn’t change and despite the medicine his head still hurt painfully every time he was reminded of the issue. That was how most of the day went, the cold shoulder from him and Kyuhyun’s increasingly bad mood. No doubt compounded by the absence of Zhou Mi again and his absent father. The thought that he was causing more stress for Kyuhyun made Siwon feel guilty but his frustration won out.

It wasn’t until during lunch that Siwon decided to confront Kyuhyun; waiting until everyone left the meeting he stood right in front of the exit.

“What are you doing?” Kyuhyun scowled at him, crossing his arms, the annoyance obvious.

“Is there something you’re hiding from me?” Kyuhyun looked confused, tilting his head adorably to one side, the scowl turning into a puzzled frown.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about Siwon...” Siwon ran a frustrated hand through his hair, was Kyuhyun telling the truth? “Look, I know who you’re involved with.”

Kyuhyun frowned uncrossing his arms he moved towards him, a hand reaching out to feel his forehead. “Are you sure you’re feeling okay?” Pushing the hand away Siwon angrily grabbed the others wrist.

“Just tell me the truth! Are you involved with ‘Zeus’?!” Kyuhyun didn’t reply, pulling his wrist out of the strong grip and pulled out his phone. “I’m calling a Doctor for you. Something’s wrong-“Siwon grabbed the device and chucked it against the wall, frustration overriding his rational side.

“Why did you do that?” Kyuhyun scrambled to pick up the phone. “You could have broken it! All my schedule and files are on it!”

“Why do you keep avoiding the question? Please, Kyuhyun, tell me you aren’t working for ‘Zeus’.”

“I really don’t understand Siwon! Stop talking in circles!” Now the other was starting to look angry. Siwon made a noise of frustration.

“Don’t act stupid. You must know what I’m talking about!”

“Why are you being like this? “ Siwon could feel his traitorous heart clench as he noticed the tears Kyuhyun was trying so har0d to hide. Before he could say anything Kyuhyun suddenly shoved him.

“I-I hate you! Just leave!”

The younger man stormed towards the door and before leaving he turned to give him a watery glare.

Siwon stood there for a moment; disbelief that Kyuhyun had just left without answering his questions, ignoring the voice that was telling him he was being irrational. He stalked towards the door and slammed it childishly, moving towards the elevator to get to his car. He’d leave and damn it all Kyuhyun could keep all his stupid secrets to himself then.

--

Siwon hadn’t expected to be outside ‘Ozenda’, his mind must have subconsciously guided him to the little internet café. Sighing he stepped inside; at least he’d feel less stupid sitting inside the café than fuming in his car. He’d finally calmed down a little although a small part of him had been hoping for a phone call or a text from Kyuhyun but he knew the both of them needed some space after that argument.

He stepped inside the familiar café and moved to sit at the food area, Ryeowook greeting him cheerfully as he moved to his table.

“Siwon! How nice to see you today! Did you manage to cheer Kyuhyun up?” Siwon nodded half-heartedly a part of him debating on asking the smaller man for advice. As if sensing his feelings Ryeowook frowned and sat down in the other seat.

“What’s wrong?”

“It-it’s nothing…” Siwon avoided the questioning look by staring intently at the cakes on display, his heart giving a pang as he remembered how happy he had felt cheering Kyuhyun up. He was startled out of his thoughts when Ryeowook waved a hand in his face.

“Siwon, you know I’m your friend right?” He nodded somewhat confused as to where this was going.

“Tell me what’s happened. You’re both good friends of mine and I want to help! So please tell me what’s happened.” At the earnest look on Ryeowook’s face, he found himself talking.

“We…got into a fight…” Siwon trailed off, not sure where to begin.

“He told me to leave so I did…”

“Maybe he really didn’t understand? What was it you guys fought about, maybe then I can try and figure out whether or not Kyuhyun was just misunderstood?”

Siwon sighed. He couldn’t tell Ryeowook the evidence Kangin had given him or the real reason why they fought, however sensing his hesitance to explain Ryeowook continued.

“Don’t worry. I’m sorry for prying Siwon! But even if he was lying to you, you should’ve heard his side of the story…did you let him explain?”

Siwon tried to recall the angry moments earlier, his heart still stubbornly replaying the tears that Kyuhyun had tried to hide. No, he hadn’t let Kyuhyun say much; in fact he had worried the other and throwing the phone. His heart clenched as he remembered the last words Kyuhyun had said.

“I guess not. He also told me he hated me…”

“I’m sure he didn’t mean it! He really likes you Siwon and I’m sure he still does.” Ryeowook gave him an encouraging smile. “It was probably the heat of the moment; you probably said some mean things too?” Siwon nodded his heart thudding at the thought that Kyuhyun still liked him after being so cold today. He felt awful for upsetting Kyuhyun, especially now that he felt calmer and slightly less sleep deprived he could rationalise what had happened in the boardroom.

“I…guess I was just so angry at the thought that he would keep- Ryeowook I threw his phone!” Slumping dejectedly, Siwon felt even worse than before. God Kyuhyun was never going to even talk to him now.

Ryeowook patted him lightly on the shoulder. “Well, how about getting him some cake and go beg for forgiveness? You can ask him for his side of the story now!”

Siwon looked at his shoes. “I really doubt he wants to see me now.” He jumped at the light slap to his head and gaped at the normally gentle man. “Don’t think like that! You’re both so stubborn.” Ryeowook gave a drawn out sigh before standing, dusting his apron he gave a bright smile at Siwon.

“It worked last time to cheer him up right? So get some cakes and ask him for his side of the story.”

Siwon found himself being tugged from his chair and pushed towards the counter.

“I know should talk to him properly rather than jumping to different conclusions...but are you sure-“

“Nope! Don’t think too much, just go see him.” Ryeowook interrupted him; moving to stand behind the counter and looked expectantly at him. “What would you like?”

Siwon felt a grin tug at his mouth at the positive outlook the other had. The other man was right. He had to at least try to work things out. “I’d like a- “

Before he could begin ordering his phone started to ring, a glance at the caller ID told him it was Kangin, and a sense of dread immediately filled him. Giving an apologetic glance towards Ryeowook he answered.

“Hello?”

“Shit! I’m going to lose signal fast so listen carefully. We have been compromised; we’re taking Cho to the safe house. Get Kyuhyun here now.”

“Hyung what’s happened!?”

“Someone tried to take out the guy. Cho finally decided to explain. I’ll tell you later. Just protect Kyuhyun. Look there’s an insider, pretty high-ranking…can’t trust…” increased static, fear filling his veins.

“You…can’t trust that Chinese-“ Suddenly Mr Cho’s frantic voice could be head. “Zhou Mi…working for Zeus…just please protect my son!” The man sounded absolutely fearful.

“Zhou Mi? But he’s still ill, he hasn’t turned up to work.”

“Siwon, I’m sorry…yesterday. Get..safely…”

“What? Kangin! Zhou Mi can’t be-“

Dial tone, he shoved the phone back in his pockets, his hands shaking slightly.

“Siwon is everything okay?”

“I need to go. Sorry about this Ryeowook.”

Siwon turned abruptly and ignoring the startled Ryeowook, he rushed to the exit.  His brain raced to process what he’d just heard. What was that about Zhou Mi? From what he could tell it seemed as if Zhou Mi was involved with ‘Zeus’… there was no way that could be true, the Chinese man had been ill for months.

He had to get to Kyuhyun though. Panic was beginning to overwhelm him, worry that something could be happening all because he had left the other man alone due to their argument. As he stepped outside, his hand was frantically dialling Kyuhyun’s phone. It went straight to answerphone. Siwon could feel his mind blur in panic as the mechanical voice asked him to leave a message.

“Kyuhyun, I don’t have time to explain just please don’t go anywhere with anybody okay? And don’t open the door, even if it is Zhou Mi. I’m on my way-“

Beep. Beep.

Siwon almost dropped his phone in shock at the sound of his phone receiving a text message. Fumbling he ended the call and scrolled to open the text from an unknown number the unease growing.

His heart plummeted as he read the message.

It’s no use Siwon. I’ve got him.

Siwon grunted as he was tackled from behind. He quickly tried to reverse the tackle and managed to pin the man down, only to gape at the scowling face below his.

“Oh it’s you. Sorry and all that but can you hurry up and get off me now? You’re not as thin as you think you are.”
