Just to be obnoxious, which I am way too good at....

Is God kicking the box down or are you kicking out the box's walls that you see? If God/Deity is doing the kicking, do you have any choice in what is happening? If you have the choice to kick out the walls or not, then you could conceivably stay within your nice, neat, tidy box for God and not participate in the changes that are taking place.

Guess I believe too much in free will.

Why not both? erraunt February 3 2006, 03:58:26 UTC
It's not like its free will *or* God doing it.

It's both.

As I see it ...

Human nature to make "boxes" ... to name things.

It's one of the ways we control things. That's part of the Genesis creation myth, why Adam names things.

But it isn't like God remains inactive.

Occasionally God swings the spiritual clue by four ... kicks out the walls of the box ... or sometimes you walk along the wall ala Robert Frost and discover "there is a thing which does not love a wall" ...

And sometimes you rebuild it ... and sometimes you let it be.

Today ... there were bits in the end of Chapter 4 that ... actually were more like finding the wall crumbled ...

Intellectually I have a "faceless" God ... personally ... God has masks as ever.

Now I'm aware of the dichotomy.

What I'll choose to do with it ... there's another question entirely.
