HAHAHAHAHAHAHA OMG I love us! In a sort of infinite monkeys on infinite typewriters way: if we assume infinite alcohol and infinite me-being-willing-to-debase-myself-for-cheap-jokes (which we already have!), then you can assume these will all eventually get written.
ESPECIALLY the one where Rodney's a unicorn and John's a rainbow. THAT ONE IS MY NEXT 100 000 WORD MASTERPIECE WIP. But seriously: I'm writing that. *serious nod*
I still love Teyla as Neal Cassady (and, perhaps she can be H.D. in the one-where-they're-modernists?) and am still cracking up about the "but then he's giving HUGS all the time" bit.
Finally, I want to point out, for anyone who wasn't already shaking their head, how pathetic that AU where John's on my dissertation committee is. Because it's not like your typical Mary Sue AU where John's, like, my bestest friend omg or my boyfriend or something - no. He's the queer dude on my diss committee. Hi, I'm sad. :D
Re: infinite alcohol, I am waiting for the Lisa Frank one with baited breath! Mostly because I want to see you post pictures of Lisa Frank folders.
Also: I don't think that's an AU where John's on your dissertation committee! I think of it as an AU where John becomes a cranky older queer academic robot instead of a cranky older queer-but-closeted military robot, and then is amusingly robotic and queer at various academic situations.
I'm still cracking up at Teyla: Surprise Font of Scholarly Knowledge. Because she approaches everything as an anthropologist (cf. "Your people have some truly strange customs" in Doppelganger), so you know she'd take a lot of it very literally.
Leading to the scene, prior to John being forcibly outed, where Rodney's bitching about the idiotic repression of the U.S. military and DADT, and Teyla blinks and says, "But Rodney, I thought your people often see repression where in fact, the technologies of power create a compulsion to confess?"
Re: so.... you're writing every single one of these, right?eruthrosNovember 1 2007, 04:55:02 UTC
*points up to comment* Sure, in a world with infinite alcohol and infinite silliness...
I *heart* the cribbage one, myself! We decided they start to make up complicated rules to make it more interesting, like, on alternate Tuesdays you can't play a five after an eight, or whatever. Also, for this AU, we decided that Rodney grew up in the Middle Of Nowhere, Canada.
HA! What kind of backstory is it? Are they, like, not even all organisms but then transformed into humans? Is it the typical SGA transformation story, but backwards?

Teyla needs to say that on the SHOW. Because that would be AWESOME. I cannot even express the awesome.
Also, I think once she read some queer theory, she'd start asking around and end up reading, like, the ethnography of NASCAR. *hearts Teyla*

Or are they just not all organisms, the end?

The one where they're not even all organisms.

Also, Teyla's Shakespeare as her Clark Kent = fantabulous.
