This post is to vent about work - can no longer do so on Facebook since I'm connected there to the majority of my colleagues now.

It's been a really busy and fairly rewarding 6 weeks or so since I took over the immigrant visa unit at work.  I was really ready for a change - won't complain about non-immigrant visas now that it's behind me, but for ( Read more... )

Oh damn, that is awful. That completely sucks. If it were my spouse, my version of the special treatment would have been to ask if there were standard questions, and could I please see them before I send my spouse in. Yikes.

And management handling it? Holy crap, that's just all sorts of levels of disrespectful. I hope your agency shapes up at all levels before they lose you.

Sorry it's such a shitty day because people above you can't take professionalism cues from you. They ought to be looking to you for notes on that.

Merci, ma cherie. The crapstorm continued as the week wore on. For now, we're hanging in... but I'm grateful for a weekend to build up my emotional reserves a bit. I've learned a lot from this job, but I was happier before I learned most of it!

I learned alot working downtown. Some of it was Things I Will Not Do When I Get To That Point in My Career.
