Theodore Jesse (that's "Theo" for short) was born on Saturday, August 17 at 5:50 p.m. Oslo time. 10 lbs., 2 oz. of baby boy joy. Today he's one week old, and is celebrating by doing what babies do - eating, sleeping, and making dirty diapers. Mommy and Daddy are proud, happy, and tired!

Surprise, surprise - baby's due date was Wednesday, August 7, and it's now Sunday, August 11. It happens that today was the original due date based on the calendar, not the ultrasound measurements. So as far as I am concerned, baby is still perfectly on time ( Read more... )

All is well here - not a lot to report! I'm a little fatigued in general, and specifically from carrying around the extra weight and getting jostled from the inside out so much! This is the beginning of week 36, and at the end of week 36, little guy will officially be full-term (though the due date will still be four weeks out.) So, that's all very exciting. Kind of sort of getting into the homestretch, as I'm now about 30 weeks and a day into the 40 weeks of pregnancy! Excited to be well into the third trimester and past the point at which the little guy's lungs should be sufficiently developed to function for breathing. I'll have to get another picture soon, but here I am at about 28.5 weeks:

M. and I took a little trip over the weekend - fabulous. We were in Istanbul, and stayed close to the "old city" and most of the sights we wanted to see. Now, he was wonderfully helpful and carried my suitcase to/from the airport, and was kind about things like standing in line so I didn't have to. That helped a lot. We scanned the pictures from Wednesday's ultrasound. Little guy was moving a lot, so the pics are not the clearest ever. (Plus, the machine at the regular OB/GYN is not nearly as good as the one at the specialist's, so I think the 13 week pictures + video will remain the highlight.)
