Seems like things are getting exciting in there... apparently the little guy is up to about a pound, which explains why I not only feel kicks all the time but can actually see my belly move, as I realized today. No, the baby hasn't leapt ahead by four months. I just read an interesting article by a statistician saying that the most babies are actually born in week 39. I thought that the anecdotes were correct, that first babies ARE always born late. But now I'm thinking... late July? That's MY birthday timeframe. I've been weighing myself for a while now. I noticed a big fluctuation based on time of the day, so have been checking in the mornings and evenings. I always weigh a couple of pounds less in the morning - just water weight that evaporates out overnight. But, for the first time, I now am over 140 first thing in the day. That's right... the baby seems to be both anatomically correct and male. Woo! Today was the scheduled 18 week ultrasound, but based on measurements, baby graduates to week 19! So the due date is now August 7. Yes, it's all very exciting.
