Over the weekend, I decided to register to vote as an Austin resident. I had thought about going back to Spring every November, but then I realized that I am going to be here for the next four years (or longer...). I think this last act has cemented my transition from Houston to Austin, and perhaps also from high-school kid to college adult ( Read more... )

Well, there is the possibility of staying in Austin after graduation, as well as not being able to graduate in just 4 years. We'll see.

You should register in NYC! I'm sure there are lots of interesting issues/candidates, compared to what we've got going on down here. One of our candidates for governor, Carol Keeton Strayhorn, didn't know who the president of Mexico was in a debate this week. She's also a proponent of "immigration reform." Go figure.

i think i am maybe going a little crazy as well, though i haven't decided whether its in a good way or not. lol, i don't have time to decide. it's good that you aren't taking things too seriously, though. i don't think i am either. i just have too much to do to take anything seriously -- 19 credit hours, two part time web design jobs, and writing for an online magazine. i seriously agree about needing 12 more hours in the day (because then i might actually be able to do leisure-type activities...right now, i consider sleep to be leisurely, and thats about it).

i'm glad you are enjoying austin!

Niki, you never change! In the best way. You're amazing. And a little crazy, I must say.

I hope you find time for more leisurely activities than sleep in the near future.

I've never seen him in person ... I've only heard his voice, and it's so deep and resonant!
