A friend has set me straight on the recovery period. The doctors and nurses, including me, always tell patients it should take about six to eight weeks to recovery from a major surgery like mine. Today was my second with no morphine whatsoever. I had wanted to go to the PJC to help with a mailing but after a shower and an Ensure I still wasn't able to muster up enough energy to go out. So I had these book and 1 set of cassettes from the library that were due in Sept. '02. I kept meaing to do it, but I would always forget. Then it got to the point that I was too embarrassed to bring them back since they were so far overdue. I think I'm having withdrawal from my pain meds. I really don't need them any longer so I've been cutting down and now I feel all shaky and lethargic. Just when I'm starting to feel more strength and energy after my surgery now this. I guess I'll just rest alot.

I'd like to thank misshawklet for my current craving for tomatoes that must go unrequited due to my current diet restrictions. Drat! Maybe a nice marinara can suffice. I am pretty certain that the restriction is due to the seeds of whole tomatoes so the sauce may be OK, at least I hope so ( Read more... )

So last night my bitch of a neighbor called the cops and we got a $200 ticket for having the music too loud. She's only about 25 but complains about noise as if she's some old lady. I want to be better now! I got my staples out yesterday but that didn't make me feel much better. The doc says by the middle of next week I should feel a lot better but I'll believe that when I see it. I got a note from the doc that I'll be out of work at least until May 20th. I got the headache to go away and have felt much better for the rest of the day. I even went out of the house for 3 hours! Praise the Goddess!

I want to be better now! I hurt, I'm tired. Wahhh! I wish I knew how long this will last. I think maybe I feel better than yesterday but I don't know. I will go on an outing today after I rest up from my shower. Hi all, I am home from the hospital now. It's good to be on my couch instead of a nylon mattress. The pain meds help our couch seem more luxurious than it really is. As soon I can sleep throught the night I'll get to bed with my honey but for now the couch will do.
