Today I was thinking about how isolated someone must feel when they are drugged up to combat an illness. It reminded me of a time when I had mono. I slept constantly and often awakened with intense sadness because others' lives were continuing without me. Even now, when I awake from a short nap, that feeling of isolation returns briefly. I have the day to myself. However, I have been given a *huge* list of chores to do. Sometimes I feel like an indentured servant. I do feel a sense of accomplishment when I complete one of these mammoth lists, and I know it is good experience for my future, but I wish I could organize my own time. TGIF. I love the weekends. The only negative is the constant company of parental units. Sometimes there are fun things to do, though. I love going to the movies, even though it's often freezing inside and people love to talk and kick the back of your seat. So many people today act as if they were raised in a barn. So yesterday was Valentine's Day and my dad brought my mom a dozen red roses and a bottle of champagne (my favorite!) She made him a nice dinner, which made me happy. She was having a good day (read: she wasn't on my case). I hope she will stay on an even keel for a few more days because I've been feeling almost normal. I wish I could crawl around inside my mother's head sometime. I don't understand why she does the things she does. We aren't close; I really don't know why. She says and does the most random things.
