Revelations of today-

1) Ginger tea is initially off-putting, but then becomes REALLY good.

2) That last sentance contains diazeugma, but not hypozeuxis.

3) While my mother was in college her bike broke, and she got a ride from Ben and Jerry. THE Ben and Jerry ( Read more... )

Hehe, same question here. Though in my case I seem to have no option as to whether I'm going or not (ie, my mom will make me if it requires setting me up). Though as is, that brings us back to the first question, with who? Need to know what people are going anyway.

Ice creame Ben and Jerry?? o.0

THE Ice Cream Ben and Jerry!

I'm still flabbergasted that she didn't mention it before this.

You'll find somebody! Maybe my mom can call up some of her fictional Ice Cream Connections and set you up with some sort of Mint or Rocky Road Guru.

1) You are the coolest. Especially because you drink ginger tea and actually care about literary terms. Rock on.

2) diazeugma is where one subject governs more than one verb; ie- off-putting, becomes...
hypozeuxis is the opposite, and will be the name of my band, if ever I have one.... each subject has a different verb. Ex- "the Republicans filibustered, the Democrats snored, and the independents complained."

3) I KNOW!

I'm going. And what the heck do diazeugma and hypozeuxis mean?

Diazeugma is a term describing a sentence where one subject has several different verb offshoots, while hypozeuxis is the opposite- every subject has a different verb... Fantastic, really.

arr, I still haven't decided if I want to go or not.
I don't want to take off time from work, but I do enjoy the whole-dressing up thing.
EEEHHH. I'll make up my mind next week.
