“Hi”
“Hi”
“Hello”
“You are so hot”

There are a lot of lame one-liners. I figure if you can’t think of anything to say to me after reading my profile we just have nothing to talk about.

Then there are the pick-up lines:
Good morning.
Coffee or tea?
Pancake or muesli?
And I know if I answer these questions he’ll tell me we should spend the night ( Read more... )

Oh, yeah, online dating is ridiculous like that. One of my friends is on me to re-up my OKCupid profile, and it's all those things you listed that I just... can't... deal with. Especially as I live in a pretty small town setting, and so I'm guaranteed to run into these people at some point. Ugh. Good entry!

I guess there's no reason to expect any improvement over pick up lines in bars, even though the guy has time to think about what he wants to say, since there's no reason to expect any improvement in the guys; still, it's depressing. At least they make separating the wheat from the chaff easy. I love the "[weakness]" guy. It reminds me of Bush's "message:I care" speech.

Wow. So much winning out there! :O

I think, given how little time these people have put into addressing you personally (or reading your actual profile), that just deleting the message is more than fine.

And if you've gotten grief in the past for a polite reply, then DEFINITELY delete at will. Sheesh!

This was hugely entertaining even if I can imagine it as being highly frustrating for you.

This was well narrated and the different pick up lines had me in splits. Did you come up with those or were they real messages that were sent out into your profile.

Well Done.
