She stepped off the scale, disappointed. Even though she had lost weight it did not feel like a victory. Everything she achieved, every pound she lost, every "new" number on the scale she had seen before. I can relate to this so well. After losing pretty close to a hundred pounds about three years ago and keeping it off (except for a ten pound or so slide both ways) when I was talking to someone about getting rid of the clothes that were too big for me they said maybe I should hang on to them.

It is such a struggle, and the pain of it never seems to stop.

The "new" number on the scale being one you've seen before, so it feels like victory and defeat -- I have so been there.

Such an annoying ongoing battle. So many of us are in that boat with you!
