She stepped off the scale, disappointed. Even though she had lost weight it did not feel like a victory. Everything she achieved, every pound she lost, every "new" number on the scale she had seen before. So it was as much a reminder of her failure as it was a confirmation of her achievement this week

The only thing I can say, being all too familiar with the yo-yoing myself, is that lifestyle changes (what and how you eat) are easier to maintain than typical diets. And yes, moving more does make a difference. Especially if things happen gradually, you will find a good equilibrium you can live with rather than aiming for the ideal look achieved through the difficult road of non-sustainable diet plans.
