She stepped off the scale, disappointed. Even though she had lost weight it did not feel like a victory. Everything she achieved, every pound she lost, every "new" number on the scale she had seen before. Aw, it is SUCH a tough battle. :(

The only thing I can say, being all too familiar with the yo-yoing myself, is that lifestyle changes (what and how you eat) are easier to maintain than typical diets. And yes, moving more does make a difference. Especially if things happen gradually, you will find a good equilibrium you can live with rather than aiming for the ideal look achieved through the difficult road of non-sustainable diet plans.

This story could be written by my husband. He has such a battle with weight every day. It's such a hard, frustrating thing.

Oh boy, can I relate to this! I seriously think my metabolism is completely out of whack now, permanently. I do exactly the same thing I did 15 years ago to lose weight, and the best I ever seem to so is hold steady.
