My life, in bullets

Dec 02, 2010 15:15

There are so many days where I have things to blog about, and yet there's no time. Ever. When I finally have the time, I'm exhausted. Who am I kidding? I'm exhausted even when I don't have the time. Nevertheless, life is passing by and I've failed to record any of our comings and goings milestones, successes, failures, joys or frustrations. So here ( Read more... )

I'm glad the botox worked a little, and sorry to hear about the rest of your yuks. However, you still amaze me because even when you are falling apart, you manage to pull it off. Can you believe you have 5 children?!

Sam does have a great team on his side -- not just the dev ped but also you and Seth.

Thinking of you.

Yay for finding at least some relief. I hope they can figure out the least invasive way of getting those nerves to quit freaking out.

Have you read The Out of Sync Child? It is such an amazing book, it's like someone has been following Rivka around her whole life, taking notes, and then they just handed me a report on her. Of course there's stuff in there about other kids with different issues, but the stuff about her is so completely dead-on accurate it's almost creepy.

She starts her evaluations tomorrow morning, thank G-d. We're suspecting ADHD, SPD and possibly Aspergers or somewhere along the spectrum. Her teachers are behind me 100%, so I'm hoping that we can come up with some plans to make her life more workable.

I have read the Out of Sync Child (see also: The Out of Sync Child has Fun). It was far more helpful with Julian than with Sam.

Good luck with the evaluations.

Good luck with Sam, too. As I've said about Julian, he has the best possible parents, and that's 99% of the battle. :-)

I'm sorry that you are still so ill and hope JHU can bring you a refuah shleima. Are your GI problems caused by your hyperemesis, or were they the cause of the hyperemesis? Anyway I am glad to hear you are at peace with J's birthmother and I know you have a fantastic dev. ped. so S. is in good hands.

I would not say that I'm at peace with J's mom. Resigned to it, sure, but at peace? Probably never. But it's important to me to ensure that when this is all said and done, NO ONE will be able to look back and truthfully say that I wasn't *always* appropriate, open, and willing to do the right thing.

re: the GI stuff - there's a chicken egg thing here. We don't know if I had gastroparesis and didn't realize it which resulted in horrendous hyperemesis or if the gastroparesis was caused by the severe hyperemesis. Either way, the treatment's the same, so it will likely remain a mystery.

I'm so glad to hear from you--well, I have on Facebook, but it's not quite the same! So sorry things aren't better healthwise. I hope things with J's mom are going as well as they can.
