I was beginning to think you had run away!(grin) But most obviously not.
Who came up with this word 'regeneration' for housing development? From what you write your community seems to be thriving and hardly in need of regeneration.
Perhaps one good thing could come out of recession - the whole thing forgotten.
Anyway, thanks for the walk; I had already done this, but didn't know about the wet boards,

it is the 7.5 Ha of land that is to be 'regenerated'...(aka 'a profit might be turned from the development of it'...- but given the housing market, I guess much of it would have to be social housing for that to happen)

Oh, and I hope you had a good T-day holiday... I thought of Chicago last Thursday, as I was there, of course for the holiday last year- and I also clearly recalled the 'Black Friday' !! (I went for a big walk along the lake to avoid the rampant consumerism...)

I'm headed back to Chi-Town in a couple weeks for Xmas. That entire city oozes with conspicuous consumerism. I much prefer the country life. :)

No internet (I'm on a borrowed machine),no telephone, no telly!!
Came here especially to let you know I got the books yesterday. Thank you, so, so much. What better present to get in my deep isolation. Hope to get back on a proper footing soon,
