I heard about this on the news at lunch today! How exciting for our friends across the Pond - since you all rarely get any snow. I heard the buses in London weren't running, and many of the underground's were having trouble too. Ha - Welcome to winter!

..and it is because we rarely get any snow that we are so useless at coping with it...you would die laughing if you saw the tiny little bit of snow we had in Colchester yesterday - pretty much all gone today..and all the schools were closed!! half our staff went home early- one person didn't come in at all because she heard on radio 'don't travel unless you need to..'everyone else from her village turned up for work- they must've listened to a different radio station. (Her boss offered to drive out and get her, but she said she'd take a day's holiday instead) There were places much worse hit than us, I know, and position was different there, I'm sure.. but I think it was more 'FEAR of snow' rather than actual snow that made things grind to a halt in my particular area. Never mind, it made us all laugh, even though I saw no Polar Bears skipping down the High Street.(which would've been nice)
