Got a book here called 'Sloightly on Th' Huh!' An affectionate look at the Suffolk dialect.
The French would use something like 'bousiller', badly done, ruined, for skew whiff

oh... 'skew whiff' haven't heard that for ages, but remember from my childhood.

Curious shaped building, the lower one. Interesting.

Yup, I was intrigued by both the clock tower, which was very much 'on the hoy' and its juxtaposition to the modern Clydesdale Bank building behind it. Glasgow was sometimes a complete curiosity in terms of buildings and their placement in relation to each other. A huge amount of civic pride evident, which is lovely to see. WW2 bomb damage and some fairly wholesale demolition of tenements has led to some interetsing modernisation schemes. if you've not been, go if you can. You'll have a blast, and there's loads of beautiful stuff to look at at think about- all kinds. (the people there are nice, too) anne :) and good luck with your journal. I have found it very useful as a kind of record of things I would otherwise perhaps not thought about quite so much. And I have made some interesting journal friends. It is particularly nice to read about what other users are doing in different parts of the world.. initially at random sometimes, but very nice nonetheless.
