I still don't know what bag she was asking about.

I’m not sure how much any of you know about Diabetes or that it reared its ugly head back when I turned 13, but the following telling of what happened to me last night will shed light on to just how fucked up this disease is. It has one twisted sense of humor at times.

This is pretty long...you have been warned )

Actually, I did poison the cookies. Sorry about that.

But seriously, that shit is fucking scary. I'm just glad that you are okay and the kids were not distrubed by it. Good thing you have a woman around to keep an eye on your ass.

Yeah...I'd probably be in a tower over the Girl Scout Home Base with a gun trying to get the poisoning daughters-of-bitches if it weren't for her.

Yeah, I know a bit, quite a bit about the disease. It really can be fucked up and scary. I think the worst part about it is due to people's lack of understanding you don't get the same support that other diseases get. And just from what I remember about you - you are probably one of the most responsible diabetics I have been around.

All Abouts are amazing. They are shortbread cookies with one side dedicated to chocolate.
They are yummy in my tummy, but sadly I can only eat a couple at a sitting due to the stupid Diabetes.

I'm pretty sure I either have it, or starting to have it. My Grandfather and Mother both suffered from it. But I get those low blood sugar episodes to, don't think I've ever had one that bad though. I'll see about sticking some candy in my purse for HF, any preference?

Surprise me...I am not a picky candy consumer.

I sure hope you don't have it or it is the version that you control with diet.
Having to either supplement your own insulin or live on injections sucks the root and something I wouldn't wish on anyone.

I'm pretty sure if I do, it's controlled with diet. My Grandfather had Type 1 so he had to use the insulin. My Mother is Type 2 so she just has to take the pills, except now she has to use Insulin because her body went into shock from the heart attack. But the doctor said that could go away, especially since she's lost weight.

My sugar level had gotten so low that I was hallucinating about poisoned girl scout cookies; I wasn't thinking too clear at the moment.

Glucose tablets do the job with normal low sugars, but mine was below 30 at that point...I would have had to down a fist full to make a dent.

Natural sugars are better, actually. Candy and soda will raise your sugar level really fast, then it will drop again. Natural sugars will bring you up at a more even pace. You have to do what you have to do on the road, but if at all possible some OJ or jelly or something like that is a better bet. They also make the glucose stuff in tube form, which is good if the subject is beyond being able to chew and swallow.

That was for DS, not you, Rog. I don't need to tell you any of this shit :)
