Suddenly Last Summer review (well.. sort of) & The wonderful-ness that is The Gale Morgan Harold

Mar 31, 2007 17:05

Almost three (!) months after we've travelled to New York and had the incredible chance to see The Gale playing and meet him, I'm finally posting a big fat entry about it. Phew! Talk about procrastination. I wanted to write a post focusing on the play and the Gale to begin with, but I'll post the faaaabulous adventures of the Berry and the Kiwi, ( Read more... )

sls, gale harold

Hahaha no I think that still a great part of the fandom has to meet the man, this is why he really needs to do more plays! I was so lucky to be able to go there, and I hope you'll be lucky to meet him too soon! :D

No worries, this is what he does to everyone! XD

Thank you! In most pictures they look brownish so I was really starting to wonder if that beautiful green color was some kind of Gale-induced hallucination. So green it is, and what a gorgeous green! *sigh*

I think my favorite part of the whole post is:

The thing is, I realized that this feeling of depth there is about Brian, those layers of emotions and complexity, are actually coming from Gale, he’s the one who projects is own depth and complexity into the character and how he portrays him.

I haven't met him and this is still sort of what I've thought ever since getting a glimpse of who Gale is from reading and watching interviews. Maybe a part of his mysterious and enigmatic character explains a portion of that "depth", but, yes... Gale is Brian, Brian is Gale. And that is why Brian Kinney could not be if he weren't played by Gale Harold.

God, I just loved this post so much. I loved your descriptions and every word you used was perfect. I loved how much detail was put into this. It truly felt like I experienced this through your eyes.

fdjakfasd;l *headdesk* There just aren't enough words to describe how wonderful this post was ♥

I'm so glad that not only people took the time to read the whole post but also understood my attempts at explaining what I thought about him! I really didn't realized how much he put into the character of Brian until we met him, you're right, Gale is Brian and Brian is Gale (maybe minus the whole fucking every guys that move, well we don't know actually, although I see Gale as a much more reserved person than Brian. Okay that's a whole new conversation there, I digress!). That show wouldn't have last one season had they cast anyone else than him for the role, I'm so happy and relieved he took the part ( ... )

I so enjoyed reading about your trip, seeing the play, and meeting Gale. Lucky, lucky you!! We have been going through a dry spell with Gale sightings lately. Seems our man has fallen off the face of the earth since he was in Berlin. Thanks for sharing your adventure. It makes these Gale-less days all the more bearable!!!

Awww thank you, I'm so happy you enjoyed reading it. :) It's hard to have no news from him indeed, nor having any new project to look forward to (well unless maybe that East Broadway movie that keeps changing name), and I must admit thinking back of those lovely moments in NY help a lot with the Gale withdrawal! :P
