You know, a few years ago I took part in the World Naked bike ride in Asheville. It was the first for Asheville (maybe 3 years ago). The aim of the ride was to draw attention to the consequences of world dependence on oil.
When I arrived, there were more cops than riders. We were "escorted" through town by a phalanx of bicycle cops and as we rode, an unmarked Ford Aerostar kept stopping and video-taping us. It was obvious that it was the Asheville P.D. I figured that it had something to do with "Homeland Security" bullshit, and it probably did. A few months later, I got a call from my brother in Florida who told me that he and his sons saw me on an episode of "Cops". As in,"look what the cops in Asheville had to contend with".
