The best thing about management, they taught us at uni, is that a manager doesn’t have to do anything he does not want to do. It’s all about delegation. As a manager, you educate the team, and then you just do nothing, but supervise - overlook - monitor - and review. (As you can figure, strategic management was one of my favourite courses indeed).

All my life I had wanted to go to America. All my life I had listed it in the top 10 - to visit, to see, to touch, to feel. It didn’t even matter to me which part of America, as long as it was on the coast. I am a big fan of Chef Gordon, I am ashamed to admit. I know the Brits dislike him for “bringing Britain down” and everybody else dislikes him for being an arrogant sweary ass, but I think he has got lots of drive and charisma and initiative. When I hate the whole of humanity, I usually have my good reasons.

• Tiny fitting rooms in shops with bad lighting and no proper puffs or hooks. Which clothes do you drop on the floor in this case, your own or theirs?
• When in shops/restaurants staff speak bad English. Get a dictionary!
• People eating and talking on the phone at the same time.

Things I enjoy most:

• dipping a hand into a bag of lentils (hello, Amelie!)
• opening champagne bottles. Drinking champagne and watching the bubbles float
• taking off the rollerblades/skies/5 inch stilettos and walking on the cold tile floor
• tearing the cellophane wrap off new CDs
• landing - on the plane

The best thing about yoga is that it allows you to lie flat on the floor and breath deeply. No other part of the class can compete with the very beginning, when you just walk in, roll out a mat and quietly lie down.
