We got a major snowstorm last year. This year, in addition to the Valentine's Day blizzard which I didn't get to enjoy because I had to [try to] fly out to California, we're getting a St. Patty's Day ice storm.

This has to be the hardest trip I've been on, and it all started when I tried to leave New York. I didn't have it nearly bad as those people who were stuck on an airplane for half a day, but spending a whole day on standby for various flights isn't my idea of a good time. These days, in my family, birthdays are one of the few days of the year we really make any sort of big deal about. (Thanksgiving being one of the others.) I've known for some time that the office building I work at here in New Jersey 3-4 times a week can get pretty dry.
