I'm not a bad neighbor, just not what you'd call a good neighbor.

I take care of my place, I'm quiet (or anti-social, if you like). I'm not rude-I'll nod my head and say 'Hi'-if you initiate it. But don't mistakenly think I want to talk to you. I enjoy knowing my neighbors. It makes me feel more safe in that I know they are watching out for me like I watch for them (well, maybe not as much since I am constantly looking out the windows...). If I'm laying bleeding in the street, they will know where to drag me back to, and if I need a cup of sugar- hey! I can feel comfy they won't pull a shotgun on me if it's after 7pm.

I know what you're saying, my parents have that feel of security with their neighbors. It's just such a chore for me to deal with people I don't know. I've been known to look out the windows before stepping out to make sure the coast is clear(no people in sight), once out I keep my head down so as not to make I eye contact and be forced to speak.

If I'm found bleeding in the road, noone will have a clue where I belong, therefore I am determined never to be bleeding in the middle of the road!

I could never hate you, Darling! euphates April 20 2003, 11:11:14 UTC
But you would drive me crazy until I got used to you.
And I would eventually get used to you!
