I'm surprised they fed the gator- that's what makes them lose their fear of man and then become dangerous.

I was wandering about that myself, although the area wasn't very populated, mainly fisherman.

Still- an aggressive aligator is a scary thing. When I was a kid, my backyard was a peninsula, with the canal on one side, and a big lake on the other, and we had a big 10' or so gator come up out of the water after my dad. What was particularly strange on that was that he's a big man- like 6'2, AND was using a noisy weed eater at the time. That aligator had lost ALL fear.
