This seems pretty exciting to me.  A new volcanic island was created recently off the coast of Tonga.  It reminds me that we're still living on a changing planet and that we'll never really every know or be able to plan for everything.  The "Laws of Physics" for example are only applicable because of the delicate balance of our planet in this ( Read more... )

I bought a Canon PowerShot S40 a few years ago and have never really liked it much.  In fact, because I don't like it I hardly ever take any pictures.  It's not terribly large but it is large enough that it is not convenient to just keep in my bag and take with me everywhere.  It is time to replace it.  M. has a Canon PowerShot SD30 which is a nice ( Read more... )

So far I've heard nothing but [really] bad reviews from this show but no real details.  Anybody who was there care to comment on what went so terribly wrong or perhaps some positive notes if you enjoyed the show?  Guess I'm glad I didn't come out for it since I was getting so many strong recommendations.

This morning I've been listening to Thomas Newman's original score to Shawshank Redemption.  Even without the context of the movie this music makes sense and stands alone.  I've heard this score many times before (the score is over 12 years old now) but it never fails to impress and affect me.  Those of you who are fans of electronic music may ( Read more... )

This years costume would have been much better suited for a house party than a club.  Lesson learned.  Although, I think I am going to go back to my old way of celebrating Halloween which is to stay home ignore all the stupidness.  Perhaps I'll go out but I'm pretty sure I'll pass on the costume wearing.  Looking forward to this Tuesday night ( Read more... )
