The whole vet thing is a puzzler. We've had the same vet that we love for something like 15 years, and now he's merging his practice with some Christan zealot's practice. I don't want to deal with stupid little fishies on everything and Bible quotes all over the office. Still, he's a great vet, and if we can keep seeing just him, we might stick with it.
I'm a little puzzled that you've identified the males as individuals but not the females. Maybe you should try to meet them and see if any of them are better with people and more on the ball. Arrogant Jerk might be right that the heating vent is not the issue, but scoffing is not a good way to convey the information.
Hugs to you and Raz. I still miss our Best Kitty, so I agree 100% about what you say about caring for Raz. Don't worry about blaming yourself or making a comparison- they're professionals and should act like it.
It's such a pain to seek out any kind of a new practitioner, whether it's a vet, an MD, or a therapist. Good luck with the Bible quotes.
I didn't talk about the women because the men were freshest in my mind, as I saw them on my most recent two visits. One of the women was sort of scolding toward me when Raziel first got sick, and I felt guilty enough w/out that, but other times she was OK. The other was nicer and more helpful. But I don't remember her freaking name (or the other one's freaking name either). The two of them seemed to have different opinions on how long Raziel was going to last. I liked the nice one's opinion better.
He seems to be in better spirits today. I don't know whether it was getting watered two days in a row, his little excursion in the back yard, or the improvement in the weather's resulting in him spending less time on the heater/being cold. Or maybe he just really enjoyed hanging out at the clinic for the afternoon.
