Evan's Day In Court

I have a project in my government class which requires me to watch 8 hours of courtroom proceedings. This project seems dumb, I get 6 days out of class to do it so I cannot complain. Isn't court crazy? Although I know real life isn't like CSI, and thus less of the "got to prove through DNA or they aren't guilty", I was amazed how theatrical a courtroom can get. On the case I was sitting in the jury for, even before the case got under way, the judge called the attornies to his desk, leaned forward and said, "I'm warning you now.....STOP THESE SILLY ASS GAMES". That set the tone for the entire trial. The defense attorney used long heavy pauses, and then come right up to the jury box, look us deeply in the eyes....and made points that just left all of us dumbfounded. The prosecuting attorney was sick of this, so she would roll her eyes way back in her head, sigh loudly, make incredulous faces, and every once in a while throw her head into her arms on the table. I don't think the judge could even keep a straight face. He was angry of course at it all, but I think he was very amused too. I'm sure he's seen it all.
