I could NOT figure how you could possibly know of the 1945 Harry James wartime-homecoming number, “It's Been a Long, Long Time,” performed by Kitty Kallen but covered later by Bing Crosby and Louis Armstrong… until I saw that it's on the soundtrack of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and thus has resurfaced in the 21st century.

Welcome back!

Yah, well, I'm still above water - I haven't been fired JUST yet, but I believe a head-on collision that's been brewing for six (6) years is coming - a clerical error on the part of management is causing me to appear to be doing my job poorly, when in fact I'm not, but it's always easier to point fingers, particularly at (theoretically) replaceable subordinates - and otherwise, it's same-old-same-old, as you're cleared to see here if you've time to bother.  (My Christmas went unexpectedly well.  How was yours?)

I'd been wondering what became of you. Post when you can!

“Their young enter through the ear, and wrap themselves around the cerebral cortex…” - Khan

That saccharine little melody has been rolling around in my head for two DAYS now.  If I'm under surveillance by telepathic aliens, they must be rolling around themselves by now.

Kiss me once, then kiss me twice
Then kiss me once again.
It's been a long, long time…

Elizabeth Clark "Liz" Phair (born April 17, 1967) is an
American singer-songwriter and guitarist.

She began her career in the early 1990s by self-releasing
audio cassettes under the moniker Girly Sound, before
signing with the independent record label Matador Records.
Her 1993 debut studio album Exile in Guyville was
released to acclaim: by the turn of the 21st century, it had
been ranked by Rolling Stone as one of the 500 Greatest
Albums of All Time. Ten years after the release of her
debut, Phair's fourth album, Liz Phair, was released
on Capitol Records and her music began to move in a more pop
rock-oriented approach. Phair has sold nearly three million
records worldwide. Her latest album, Funstyle, was
released on July 3, 2010…
