Here's what I just posted on the Forums. One thing I loved this year is how we could compete against other people! It truly did help some nights to see that Aspasia was catching up to me (and then passed me when I took two nights off!) - made me decide to write an extra couple hundred words instead of quitting.

On Tuesday the 28th I wrote 1,735 words. Yesterday I wrote 2,366 words and stood at 49,636 words total when I decided to upload my novel to see what NaNo's counter said (since it has been known to subtract words). I had a great 3,000-word day yesterday and a 2,000-word day today, bringing my total to 45,525. Instead of being behind schedule, I am now 525 words ahead - whoo hoo!

I stayed home today (too wet to go birdwatching) and had an amazing catch-up day. Altogether I wrote 3,409 words which I think is a record for me. I might have done better for a one-day total last year during NaNo, but certainly not any time in 2006 ( Read more... )

NaNoWriMo 2006 is still going well. I don't know where I'm finding all of the words. I've met each of my daily goals so far except for Saturday - I only managed to complete 615 words that day because I spent most of my day out birdwatching! Still going strong despite writing 0 words this morning before going to work and 0 words at work. I just wrote 1,774 words in less than two hours. I don't know where they are all coming from, but I'm now at 5,421 altogether and still 420 words ahead of where I should be.

Get ahead and stay ahead, that's my plan this time.
