So, after a year of my brother living in this room the underneath of the carpet is covered with mold and the whole room, at times, smells like a dank cement dungeon

You know, it's entirely possible that the mold under the carpet is what's been keeping you sick. I hope that what you did helps.. if not, you should totally tear the rug up. And I hope you get that job, even if there's no raise... it'll pay off in future, I'm sure.
i know the mold is totally weakening my immune system even if it's not what's making me sick.
and i'd actually be really happy just to be working fulltime again. the last time i worked full-time at this rate i was VERY comfortable and would really like to get back to that kind of stability.
start here, while the bleach is still working. and i don't know if it'd work for you, but running a dehumidifier and running the output to the sump (if you have one) has really cut down on the black mold we used to get cause our basement is like 3 feet from our well.
hope you end up feeling better soon, i can't thank you enough for the azithromycin.
we've been running the dehumidifier a lot, it's not picking up too much water right now, but i know we won't be able to live down here w/o the thing come later in the summer. the thing is about a sealer: my dad built the drywall room in a moldy basement and didn't seal the walls first (i know, awesome, right?). so the only way we could do it would be to literally dismantle the whole room. so that's not really an option.
i'm sure i'll start feeling better soon. i mean, the only real problem right now is my chest, which i'm sure will clear up pretty soon. i'm really glad i was able to get the z-pack out to you and it's working as much as it can. i had no idea it would get there so quick, and i'm really glad that you and i cleared the air in time for you take be able to take it.
really, all i want right now is for you to get better so i can some back out and see you again. and so you don't have to rely on your bs mom, because that is some seriously fucked up shit.
