I'm off to a good start, probably because I'm sick, and so I don't feel bad for doing nothing but lounging around and writing. I am, in fact, doing just that right now. nanowrimo is going to eat my soul this year
I'd like to do nano again this year. I have just one problem (aside from the usual fact that it will cause me to drown in grading before the end of the month). I haven't the foggiest idea for a plot at the moment. Last year I took a short story I had written and expanded it. the end of the summer
Tomorrow is my last day of summer break, though this summer has really flown by. Between the trip to Poland and then buying our house, it really hasn't felt like I've had much down time. I did manage to make a little progress in terms of reading for the summer, though not as much as in summer's past. It might be harder to hit 40 books this year ( Read more... ) -
Books!
One of the good things about travel is having time to read. Not much else to do on the plane when you can't sleep (well, that and watching 4 of the 5 HP movies between the trip there and back). Also had some down time in the evenings to read, so I got three books done over the past couple weeks.

loyalty apparently means nothing
my father was laid off today. after 31 years of loyal service, they gave him a pink slip. called him into the boss's office at 11:30am, laid him off, and by the time he got back to his office, there was someone there to watch him pack his things. they did not, however, lay off the person they hired about a year ago that has the same title as my ( Read more... )
