don't stay out of whitby unless you really have too. Every time I hear of anyone doing so they regret it.

chris got somewhere the other day so places are coming up. If you find somewhere for more than two Lee, Dave C & others are all looking so you'll find housemates.

Cool, that's good to know.

Do let us know if you hear of anything.

Brian's going to try to ring the lass who was putting us up tonight, see if she can suggest something..

someone has mentioned scarborough tourist office as possibly more useful. Might be worth a try.

It was actually them I phoned as I couldn't get through at all on the Whitby one.

Sorry for being so dramatic with the big post an all but I really feel horribly stressed about this today and like it's SUCH a big pressure to try and sort something out now. I'm so tense I only just remembered to eat something for the first time today about 5 minutes ago and am feeling a LITTLE bit better after that, lol.....

I always leave it till the very last minute to book, and I've *always* managed to pick somewhere up without any real problems, so you could try that? I've done that about six times now (pretty much since evie_petrol appeared.

I just frequent the topmum website bulletin boards and LJ communities in the two weeks leading up to WGW. Lots of people drop out at the last minute. Possibly the most common thing to come up is a double room in a guest house. These are nearly always in Whitby, generally up on the North cliff.

It might not be good for your nerves to leave it that late, of course...

Well that's it in a nutshell - my nerves willnae take it cap'n! I'm hyper-tense and upset already, lol! But I think we don't have much choice but to try and get something from a cancellation now.

Let me know if you spot something hon,

Unfortunately we tried to book accommodation right after getting home in April but everything was booked up already. That's why we're not going. We simply couldn't get anything - closest was Robin Hood's Bay. :(

We're probably going to have a nice weekend in to ourselves instead.

I've asked on the WGW forum for you. Will let you know if I hear anything.

Unfortunately, the cottage I'm in has the beds already accounted for. We have an odd day but that's about it and everything's taken for the weekend days.
